The Department of Education at Bundelkhand College, Jhansi, was established in 1975 with the introduction of undergraduate (B.A.) classes from the academic session 1975–76. Since its inception, the Department of Education has been dedicated to fostering a critical understanding of the philosophy, psychology, and sociology of education, integrating theoretical foundations with practical applications in the field of teaching and learning.
Currently, the department has two sanctioned posts, with one permanent faculty member. Over the years, it has been enriched by the contributions of distinguished scholars and committed teachers, including stalwarts such as Dr. U.K. Porwal and Dr. B.L. Tiwari, who laid the foundation for an environment of academic rigor and social responsibility. Presently, the department is headed by Mr. Ramnarayan.
In addition to classroom teaching, the department actively promotes seminars, group discussions, and project-based learning to enhance students’ analytical and research skills. With its firm grounding in traditional pedagogy complemented by contemporary educational practices, the Department of Education continues to nurture graduates who make meaningful contributions in academia, civil services, social work, and diverse professional fields.
